The school officially opened for classes Monday and Principal Donna Allegood said they rang a cast iron bell in the courtyard.
White County School Superintendent Dr. Paul Shaw said it was a smooth opening, but there are still a few concerns, such as traffic and extra parking.
Shaw credits school employees for the smooth transition, especially maintenance and technology workers who worked extra hours over the holidays to make sure the facility was ready for students.
There will be a dedication of the new school building on February 29th, with featured speaker U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss.
