Dr. Jose' Cordero offered insight on the center's public health approach to wellness and prevention as he spoke to the occupational therapy students at Brenau.
Dr. Cordero told his audience of about 40 that birth defects are far more common than most people realize. He said one in every 30 babies is born with serious birth defects.
He said there are 54 million Americans living with a disability and the center plays a crucial role in promoting public awareness, services, and research facilities.
