The War Eagles used a big second quarter to take control against Gilmer County and then held on for a 56-51 Region 7-AAA North win on the road.
The Chestatee girls won 51-30 to make it a sweep.
The win snapped an eight-game losing streak for Chestatee (2-8, 1-0) since winning its opener against West Hall almost six weeks ago.
"It feels good," Triaga said. "We've played a very tough schedule and have had some breaks go against us. But the kids have played hard all year and hopefully this can get us going."
The War Eagles lost two games by one point and another by four during the losing streak.
"This was important because we were able to hold on to the lead which should give us some confidence," Triaga said.
Chestatee started five sophomores Tuesday night.
Junior Duty Jarrard and sophomore Corey Black lead the War Eagles with 12 points each. Sophomore Jesus Cantu added 10.
After leading just 14-12 at the end of the first quarter, Chestatee used a 10-2 run in a 24-17 second quarter outburst to take a 38-29 halftime lead. Gilmer cut the lead to 45-42 at the end of the third quarter but could not get any closer.
