Benson shoots GHS past Fannin County

GAINESVILLE - Hall County's leading is back to his scoring ways the past week after being shutdown by No. 1 East Hall a week ago.

Gainesville's Brent Benson poured in 27 points to lead the Red Elephants to an easy 58-39 win over Fannin County Saturday night.

The Class AAA eighth-ranked Red Elephants (13-4) next will travel to No. 10 Johnson Tuesday night in a key region 7-AAA showdown.

The Knights were stunned Saturday night by North Hall.

Gainesville never trailed against the Rebels (5-14) who had won two straight.

Tyler Sanders led Fannin County with 10 points.
