Gainesville/Hall County Gang Task Force arrests seven

GAINESVILLE - Seven people were arrested by the Gainesville/Hall County Gang Task Force in recent days on drug and other charges.

Hall County Sherrif's Lieutenant Jeff Strickland said Monday the arrests were made over the weekend.

"The Gainesville/Hall County Gang Task Force made seven arrests following investigations into illegal drug and gang activity," Strickland said.

Arrested were Matthew Edward Smith, 21, of Gainesville on charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of marijuana; Danny Diaz, 22, of Gainesville on the charge of entering an automobile; Dwayne Glasper, 20, of Gainesville on charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of government housing, and giving false information to an officer; Tammie R. Cato, 37, of Gainesville on the charge of possession of a methamphetamine; Keith W. Breece, 20, of Oakwood on charges of possession of a methanphetamine and having a concealed weapon; Sam C. Elmore, 22, of Oakwood on charges of Possession of a methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of Flexeril, and possession of Soma; and Roderick H. Carruth, 42 of Gainesville on charges of battery and simple battery.

Lt. Strickland adds the investigations yielded cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine and two firearms with an approximate value of $3,320.
