The East Hall girls basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak while White County's five-game win ended in a 40-36 win for the Lady Vikings on the road.
East Hall (12-7) had lost 3-of-4 and fallen into fourth place in Region 7-AAA South after loses to West Hall and Flowery Branch.
White County (12-8) had not lost a Region 7-AAA game since losing to Gainesville December 12th.
East Hall held D.J. Galbiati to 16 points and no other Lady Warrior scored in double figures. Galbiati came into the game averaging nearly 24 points a game over the last two weeks.
Ashley Towe led the Lady Vikings with 10 points and Heather Poole added 9.
The win came at a good time for East Hall.
"We needed a big win since we had lost a couple of tough games in a row," East Hall coach Allen Pritchett said. "It was nice to pull this one off. We got a lot of help off our bench."
The win was even more important considering they will travel to Gainesville and Johnson next, both of which are ahead the Lady Vikings in the South subregion standings.
