Power outage in South Hall

OAKWOOD - Nearly 3,000 Jackson EMC customers in the Oakwood area - on the east side of the Interstate - were without power for about an hour Thursday morning.

"...Royal Lakes, Churchill Downs, Regency Park, Chestnut Hills, Deer Ridge - that area," said Jackson EMC spokeswoman Bonnie Jones.

Jones says the outage was caused by the failure of a piece of equipment at the Candler substation.

The power went off about 10 o'clock.
