GAINESVILLE - Four down and one to go. At least, that's what Riverside Military Academy football coach Doug Dixon wants everyone to believe.

His Eagles are soaring with a 4-0 record to start the year and have already matched their win total from all of last year.

But Dixon insists the only record they have this week as they prepare to play Windsor Academy out of Macon is 0-0.

"We have 10 one-game seasons and last week is over. We're 0-0 and we're trying to finish the week 1-0," he said.

Don't let that fool you, though. He knows this year's team could be onto something special.

"I thought we would be improved but these kids have just worked tremendously hard and right now they're playing well and with a lot of confidence. It's fun to be around them," Dixon said. "I don't put a lot of stock in beating this record or that record, but sure, it would be nice to already have more wins than last year."

Windsor (1-4) record-wise doesn't seem that imposing but Dixon said the Knights have three players that could play major college following graduation. The Knights, who had scored just 15 points in their first four games, got their triumvirate back from injuries and broke loose with a 38-14 win over Monroe Academy last week.

The Knights' multi-formation offense will be a new look for the Eagles.

"It showed last week what those guys mean to their team and what they can do," Dixon said. "Our defense will have to play very well to contain them. And playing down there, it's going to be a big challenge to come out of there with a win."

The Eagles defense, however, has been stout of late allowing just one touchdown over the last nine quarters. The defense has given up just 9 points in the last two games.

Offensively, Riverside has been led by quarterback David Elam, who gives them a lot of balance. Carl Robinson and Reggie Robinson give them a solid one-two punch in the backfield and Chris Seymour has been solid at receiver all season.
