SAVANNAH - Antoine Rutherford rushed for 206 yards and a touchdown to lead Howard to a runaway 48-3 win at Savannah State Saturday night. <br>

Howard (1-3) rushed for 295 yards to keep Savannah State (0-5) winless. <br>
<br>
Rutherford opened the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run. Greg Spriggs returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown as Howard took a 14-0 first-quarter lead. <br>
<br>
Howard scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, including fumble returns for touchdowns by Tariq Amin and Edwin Piner. <br>
<br>
Savannah State's only points came on a 33-yard field goal by Kyle McCrey in the first quarter. <br>
<br>
The Tigers were held to eight first downs while converting only 2 of 14 third downs. Howard outgained Savannah State 431 yards to 160 yards. <br>
<br>
Howard won despite collecting 121 yards on 11 penalties.
