Washington leads Morehouse to big win

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - John David Washington rushed for a school-record 242 yards and a touchdown as Morehouse beat Johnson C. Smith 39-21 in a game of winless teams Saturday night. <br> <br> With father Denzel Washington from the sidelines in Charlotte, the younger Washington accounted for more than half of the 454 yards in total offense for the Maroon Tigers (1-4). <br> <br> The Golden Bulls (0-4) took their first lead of the season on Dwan Thomas&#39; 20-yard touchdown catch from Donja Goodson to go ahead 13-7 with 10:55 left in the second quartrer. <br> <br> But Morehouse rallied over the final two minutes of the half with Duwuan Burton&#39;s 1-yard sneak and Aaron Epps&#39; 5-yard dive to give Morehouse an 8-point lead at the break. <br> <br> Burton completed 10 of 19 passes for 180 yards on the night. <br> <br> Goodson finished 14-of-33 for 83 yards and two scores.
