BRASELTON - Northeast Georgia movie goers can look forward to a film partially shot at Chateau Elan to premier next Spring.

The Woodlands section of Chateau Elan Golf Course was transformed back to the early 1900's as filming began on "Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius", a feature length film about the life of the early 20th Century golfing great.

Monday extras and actors in period costume recreated the year 1919 on a course in Pennsylvania.

Filming continues through this week at Chateau Elan, then the movie company moves to Atlanta.

Producer Kim Dawson said they picked Chateau Elan's courses because of their diversity.

Dawson said in a number of places the Chateau Elan courses resemble locations where Jones played during his career from 1908 through 1930.

The producers of "Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius", believe a movie about a man of honor will sell tickets.

Dawson said that's why they're making a movie about Jones' life.

"He was such a intriguing character with so much integrity and honor," Dawson said. "His story works for today's world."
