PAWHUSKA, OKLAHOMA - A Warren Spahn statue is headed to Turner Field.

But the legendary left-hander has an unusual concern about the nine-foot-bronze statue. He says he wants it placed under an overhang, ``where the birds won't doo-doo on it.''

Major League Baseball's winningest left-hander was on hand Friday when the statue was unveiled at a ceremony in Oklahoma, home of the foundry that built it. It now goes to its permanent home in Atlanta.

The 81-year-old Spahn, who now lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, went 363-245 in 21 seasons in the Big Leagues, most of them with the Milwaukee and Boston Braves. His ERA was 3.09.

The statue shows Spahn in mid-pitch with his right leg kicked out and left hand hanging below his knee. It will be dedicated Tuesday before the Braves play San Diego. Tuesday is also Spahn bobblehead doll night.

Spahn joins Braves' stars Hank Aaron and Phil Neikro and the Georgia Peach, Ty Cobb, with statues at Turner Field. His longtime catcher, Del Crandall, will be inducted Tuesday into the Braves' Hall of Fame.

In the $95,000 statue, he's wearing a Milwaukee Braves hat and uniform, with the Number 21 on it. It was commissioned through the Oklahoma Sports Museum by the Braves Museum & Hall of Fame.
