Three NCSU football players won't play this season

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA - Three North Carolina State players will not play this season for various reasons, coach Chuck Amato said. <br> <br> Defensive end Terrance Chapman, cornerback Marcus Hudson and linebacker Corrie Dawson will not play this year, Amato said Friday. <br> <br> Chapman, a senior, will miss the season for ``academic and personal issues,&#39;&#39; Amato said in a release. Hudson and Dawson, both juniors, will remain on the team but will ``concentrate on academics this fall,&#39;&#39; Amato said. <br> <br> There was some good news senior running back Cotra Jackson, who was academically ineligible last year, has been cleared to play. <br> <br> Hudson and Dawson were charged last winter with the unauthorized use of an NCSU student&#39;s debit card. The two pleaded guilty and were ordered to perform community service. <br> <br> Another Wolfpack player, linebacker Travis Singletary, also was charged in connection with the debit-card incident. Amato announced this week that Singletary had left the football program. <br> <br> The three players were suspended from all team activities pending the outcome of the legal charges. Amato said they later went before the NCSU student judicial board for review. <br> <br> Hudson and Dawson, who had been participating in preseason workouts, will remain on scholarship and practice with the team this year.
