Hawks, Thrashers purchase almost complete

ATLANTA - David McDavid said Monday that a few hurdles remain before his purchase of the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers becomes official.<br> <br> He signed a letter of intent April 30 to buy the teams from AOL Time Warner, along with the operating rights to Philips Arena.<br> <br> If the issues are cleared up, he expects no problems with financing the deal.<br> <br> AOL expressed confidence that the deal with be completed.
