Braves Win Big Against the Mets 11 to 4 !

(Atlanta-AP) -- Gary Sheffield went five-for-five with two homers and Mike Hampton won his third straight start to lead the Atlanta Braves past the New York Mets 11-to-4. <br> <br> Sheffield broke out of a one-for-14 slump by tying a career high for hits. His homer in the fifth inning was his first since June 27th, a span of 58 at-bats. He added a three-run shot in the eighth and scored four runs. <br> <br> Hampton went seven strong innings for the win. He&#39;s 6-and-5. <br> <br> Javy Lopez drove in five runs for the Braves, who have won eleven of 12. They improved the best record in the majors to 63-and-32, and own a nine and a-half game lead in the N-L East. <br> <br> The Mets tied a season high with five errors, including two by left fielder Cliff Floyd in the first inning. The Mets have lost eight of nine. <br> <br>
