Gage, Skinner and Van Pelt stood at 16-under after the third round of the Nationwide Tour event at the Dominion Club. Craig Bowden was one stroke back, and first-round leader Tom Carter was in a two-way tie with Bubba Dickerson at 14-under after shooting a 5-under 67 Saturday after struggling to a 1-under 71 on Friday.
Gage's best finish on the Nationwide Tour this year was a tie for 21st in the BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs. The Heathrow, Fla. resident's score Saturday beat his previous best round of 67 in that tournament.
Skinner, from Sylvester, Ga., won his last title in 1994 on the Dominion Club course. Van Pelt, of Tulsa, Okla., was a sixth-place finisher earlier this year in the First Tee Arkansas Classic.
