Former MD goodwill ambassador dies

TOCCOA - Funeral services will be held in Toccoa Tuesday for a Stephens County man who served as the Muscular Dystrophy Association's national goodwill ambassador in 1977 and 1978.

Matt Brown, 35, of Eastanollee died Friday of complications from pneumonia and a spinal muscular atrophy.

During his life, Brown made frequent appearances on the annual Jerry Lewis MD telethons.

Services will be at 2:00 Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary in Toccoa.
