ATLANTA - Bobby Robinson, who stepped down last June as athletic director at Clemson, was hired Wednesday as senior associate athletic director at Georgia Tech.

Robinson spent 17 years at Clemson, and the school won 56 Atlantic Coast Conference titles and the 1987 NCAA championship in men's soccer during his tenure. He takes over for Sterling Brown, who will retire September first.

Tech athletic director Dave Braine said, ``Bobby Robinson is one of the most highly respected individuals in college athletics, and we are very fortunate to be able to bring him on board. I got to know him very well during his time at Clemson, where he did an outstanding job for so many years.''

In his new position, Robinson will oversee facilities and game operations.
