Ambulance crashes en route to Gainesville hospital

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man is charged with DUI and failure to yield after he collided with a Forsyth County ambulance Sunday morning on Jesse Jewell Parkway.

State Patrol radio operator Barrett says the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. when Timoteo Lopez, 32, pulled in front of the ambulance at the Pearl Nix Parkway intersection.

Barrett says the ambulance was on its way to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with a patient.

Neither Lopez or the people in the ambulance were injured.
