Marietta man wins first round match at Wimbledon

WIMBLEDON, ENGLAND - Brian Vahaly of Marietta defeated Italy's Filippo Volandri Monday in the first round of the Wimbledon Championships.<br>

Vahaly beat Volandri 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4. <br>
<br>
Vahaly lost in the first round of the ATP Samsung Open Wednesday to fellow American Taylor Dent, 6-3, 6-4.<br>
<br>
Vahaly recently made international headlines after he was named to People Magazine's list of the Top 25 Most Eligible Bachelors.<br>
<br>
Other Georgians playing in the first round of Wimbledon include Robby Ginepri of Marietta; Lindsay Lee-Waters of Duluth, Ansley Cargill of Atlanta and Ashley Harkleroad of Flintstone.
