Marietta's Vahaly advances at Wimbledon

WIMBLEDON, ENGLAND - Brian Vahaly of Marietta has advanced to the second round of the Wimbledon Championships. <br> <br> Vahaly defeated Italy&#39;s Filippo Volandri yesterday in the first round by a score of 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4. <br> <br> France&#39;s Arnaud Clement was leading Robby Ginepri of Marietta, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 2-3 before play was suspended because of darkness. <br> <br> Other players with Georgia connections who are in the first round of Wimbledon include:<br> <br> Lindsay Lee-Waters of Duluth; Ansley Cargill of Atlanta and Ashley Harkleroad of Flintstone.
