Tough day for Georgians at Wimbledon

WIMBLEDON, ENGLAND - Four players with Georgia connections bit the dust in the first round at Wimbledon Tuesday. <br> <br> Ashley Harkleroad - an 18-year-old who grew up in Flintstone in northwest Georgia - lost to 16-year-old Russian Maria Sharapova 6-2, 6-1.<br> <br> Robby Ginepri of Marietta lost to 15th-seeded Arnaud Clement of France 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-7 (3), 10-8 in a match that began on Monday, was suspended because of darkness and then finished Tuesday. Ginepri sported a new look at Wimbledon - a sleeveless shirt, which is allowed for men players for the first time this year. <br> <br> Mary Pierce of France defeated Ansley Cargill of Atlanta, 6-0, 6-0, and Elena Likhovtseva of Russia downed Lindsay Lee-Waters of Duluth, 4-6, 6-2, 8-6.
