Bailey begins Lions minicamp hoping to impress

ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN - Following in your brother&#39;s footsteps can sometimes be a real advantage. <br> <br> Just ask Detroit Lions rookie Boss Bailey. <br> <br> The Georgia linebacker was snatched up by the team in the second round of the draft. Bailey&#39;s older brother, Champ, is a Pro Bowl cornerback for the Washington Redskins. <br> <br> So in a way, Boss Bailey had inside knowledge coming into this weekend&#39;s minicamp at the Lions&#39; practice facility in Allen Park. <br> <br> Bailey said, ``He filled me in a lot about the minicamp and the dos and the don&#39;ts so I feel pretty comfortable coming in.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Bailey will certainly get every chance to help the Lions this season. <br> <br> One of the things coach Steve Mariucci wanted to improve was speed on team defense and Bailey, a former high school track star, excels in that area, with sub-4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash. <br> <br> Originally projected as a late first-round pick, Bailey was still available when the Lions picked in the second round. <br> <br> Some teams might have been scared off by the fact that Bailey had two knee surgeries, in 1997 and 2000, both on his ACL. <br> <br> Bailey said, ``I&#39;ve been fine. I played two full seasons with no games missed.&#39;&#39;
