ATLANTA - Conny Pohlers' first WUSA goal gave the Atlanta Beat a 1-0 win over San Jose on Saturday, avenging a 1-0 loss to the CyberRays two weeks ago.
It was the sixth goal allowed by San Jose's LaKeysia Beene, who played 46 minutes in the U.S. National Team's 6-0 win in a friendly match in Birmingham, Ala., earlier in the day.
Briana Scurry recorded her 16th career WUSA shutout and third this year for Atlanta.
Atlanta (3-1-2) improved to 5-1-1 all-time against San Jose (3-3-0) and ended a three-game winless streak.
