WB has decided to spare us its remake of "The Courtship of Eddie's Father," but "Tarzan and Jane" will join the lineup this fall, starring former Calvin Klein underwear model Travis Fimmel.
The network has also renewed "Angel," to the relief of its cult following. Also returning; "What I Like About You," "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment," "Reba" and "Grounded for Life." Renewals of "Smallville," "Gilmore Girls," "7th Heaven" and "Everwood" had been announced previously.
Only Mondays will stay the same for the network, with its "Heaven"/"Everwood" tandem intact. "Smallville" will shift to Wednesdays, followed by "Angel." A "Gilmore" spinoff starring Milo Ventimiglia will air mid-season. Canceled programs include "Dawson's Creek," "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," "Greetings from Tucson," "Birds of Prey," "Black Sash," "Do Over," and "Family Affair."
Here's a rundown of the new programs:
"Tarzan and Jane" has the jungle swinger in New York City, where Jane is a police detective.
"Fearless" stars Rachel Leigh Cook ("Josie and the Pussycats") as a woman born without the "fear gene." Naturally, she works for the FBI. From the producer of "CSI," Jerry Bruckheimer.
"Steve Harvey's Big Time," undaunted by the apparent failure of Fox's "Cedric the Entertainer Presents," features the former WB sitcom star in a variety/talk show reminiscent of "Real People."
"All About the Andersons" is a sitcom starring Anthony Anderson as a struggling actor and single dad who moves back home with his parents.
"Like Family" returns Holly Robinson Peete to the WB family in a comedy about black and white families sharing a house.
"Run of the House" is about Michigan siblings who raise their fifteen year-old sister when their parents move to Arizona. Does DFACS know about this?
