Reds demote RHP Reith, promote RHP Hamilton

CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Reds have demoted pitcher Brian Reith to AAA Louisville. The Reds replaced him on the roster by purchasing the contract of another right-hander, Joey Hamilton, from Louisville. <br> <br> The Reds optioned Reith to Louisville after Tuesday night&#39;s game in Atlanta. Reith went 1-0 with a 3.86 earned run average in 12 relief appearances for Cincinnati. <br> <br> Hamilton was 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA in ten games, including four starts, with the Louisville Bats. Hamilton was 4-10 with a 5.27 ERA in 39 games, including 17 starts, for the Reds last season. <br> <br> Hamilton is expected to be available for the Reds&#39; game Wednesday night in Atlanta.
