The Jefferson driver outran the 22-car Pro Late Model field Saturday evening at Lanier National Speedway to pick up his first win of the season.
"It was a good night for CDS Drywall," said Dale. "They sponsored the race and I won it, so it worked out pretty good."
It was an uphill battle for Dale, however, after he qualified 10th. By lap 19, the former NASCAR Weekly Racing Series regional champion had climbed to second. He grabbed the lead from Shane Chastain on lap 24.
Chastain wound up second after diving underneath Paul Kelley and Chase Miller who nearly crashed in turn four on lap 50. Kelly finished third while Miller slipped to fifth. Peter Petropoulos claimed a career-best fourth place payday.
Curt Britt of Lithonia started on the pole and led all 30 laps enroute to his third consecutive victory in the Team Ford of Marietta Truck Series. Britt outdistanced Brian Huff for the win.
Hoschton's Mike Bruce started eighth but charged into the lead with a lap 22
pass on Travis Terry in the Simpson's Trucking and Sportsman division. Bruce held off Terry to claim his second consecutive win in the class.
Thomas Ross of Dahlonega started on the pole and raced Buster Thrasher side by side in the opening laps of the Longhorn Steakhouse Modified Ministock division. At the conclusion of the 20-lap event, however, Ross easily
outdistanced Thrasher for the victory.
After starting 10th, Chad Hoopaugh made a daring three-wide move to take the lead on lap 12 as he swept past teammate William Earnest. Hoopaugh then pulled away to claim his second win of the season in the Garrison Racing
Equipment Factory Fours.
Chris Waters collected the victory in the Legends Pro division while Brad Horne held off Shawn Fitzgerald to claim his third consecutive win in the Legends Semi Pro division.
