GAINESVILLE - The Hall County School Board filled its last two principal slots Monday night at its regular meeting.

Laurie Stamsen was named the new principal at Myers Elementary and longtime West Hall Asssistant Principal Jackie Adams was elevated to principal beginning the next school year.

"We think these are great choices and will do a great job at both places," Superintendent Dennis Fordham said.

Fordham's recommendations were unanimously approved by the board.

The Board also decided to stay with its school uniform color scheme for South Middle School despite concern it matched gang colors.

"We belive the adoption of this will help mitigate any affiliation with gang colors," Fordham said. "Plus, you can say almost every color could be a gang color and then you never be able to find one that was suitable. We think we should just move ahead with the ones we already approved."

NEW NHHS COACHES

And, in one fell swoop North Hall High filled both of its vacant basketball coaching positions.

Chestatee High coach Bobby Pless will take over the boys and South Forsyth's Debra Blake will coach the girls.

Pless was a longtime assistant at North Hall. The announcements were made at Monday board meeting.

Blake, meanwhile, turned around a struggling Lady War Eagles program.

Higgins said Chestatee is now interviewing to fill Pless's spot.
