GAINESVILLE - Michael Berglund looks the role of the teenager he is -- long hair, a spiked leather cuff and baggy jeans.
But the 15-year-old sophomore at Gainesville High School is also going to be a freshman at the State University of West Georgia. He got a full scholarship and is ready to start classes in the fall.
Even his family is envious of his classroom prowess.
Relatives say Berglund didn't feel challenged in the schools he's attended. By kindergarten, he already knew how to add, subtract and read. He even taught his grade school class how to use a new Apple computer when it arrived.
Berglund sought out other educational activities when he wasn't in school. He attended summer programs for gifted students at Duke University and Vassar College. One summer, he went to Australia with a student ambassador program.
Berglund says he's considering studying psychology.
