Taylor County 40, Athens Academy 26

MACON - Megan Kirksey scored ten points and Taylor County held Athens Academy to nine points in the first half of a 40-26 win in a state Class A semifinal Wednesday. <br> <br> Taylor County (31-1) advances to Saturday&#39;s championship game against the winner of today&#39;s second game between Landmark Christian and Jenkins County. <br> <br> The Lady Vikings held Athens Academy scoreless for the first 7:20, but the Lady Spartans (21-7) pulled within two, 10-8, on a basket by Elizabeth Lewis with 2:56 left in the half. <br> <br> Taylor, which won the last of its nine state titles in 1995, had eight different players score and led by as many as 15 in the fourth quarter. <br> <br> Elizabeth Guess scored 12 points for Athens Academy.
