NORTH CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - Thomas Mobley had 15 points and helped lead an 18-7 second-half run that lifted the College of Charleston into the Southern Conference semifinals with a 67-53 victory over Georgia Southern Thursday afternoon.
The Cougars (24-6) and first-year coach Tom Herrion will face either East Tennessee or Wofford Friday at the North Charleston Coliseum for a spot in the league championship and the NCAA tournament automatic bid that goes with it.
Georgia Southern (16-13) lost its third-straight to Charleston and fell in the league quarterfinals for the second-straight year.

Mobley was a big reason why. He had three of the Cougars' seven three-pointers and began the winning run with a long-range basket from the top of the key.

After threes by Tony Mitchell and Marcus Johnson, Mobley had a short jumper and Johnson finished things with another three-pointer to put Charleston ahead 56-40 with 8:21 to go.
The Eagles got as close as 56-45 on Julius Jenkins' bucket with 5:07 to go, but could not cut the lead any further.
Jenkins led Georgia Southern with 20 points before fouling out. However, he may have helped his team's downfall with a technical foul during Charleston's decisive run.
