Drug bust largest ever in White County

CLEVELAND - The largest seizure illegal drugs ever in White County occurred Wednesday. The bust resulted in the arrest of 8 people and $325,000 in drugs.

They found 154 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of methamphetamine.

Special Agent Mike Rundles of the Appalachian Drug Task Force says while agents were making arrests, an additional 30 pounds of suspected marijuana and one pound of methamphetamine was delivered to the Cleveland residence.

Two of the people arrested were from Lula, and another two were Cleveland. The other four were from out of state.

Arrested were 33-year-old Thomas Neal Turner of Cleveland, 31-year-old Zoe Eve Salamina also of Cleveland, 48-year-old Deborah Lynn Minor of Lula, 39-year-old Richard Lynn Rogers of Lula, 37-year-old Eric P. Shawback of Jacksonville, Florida, 41-year-old Doug Keith Minor of Cushing, Texas, 31-year-old Victor Hugo Vargas of El Paso, Texas, and 32-year-old Louis Antonio Vargas of Mexico.
