ATLANTA - Authorities reassured Atlanta and its visitors Friday that the city will be safe during All-Star weekend despite national terrorist warnings.
Police says they're treating events surrounding Sunday's NBA All-Star game with the highest level of security -- even before the nation upped its terror warning level to ``high risk'' orange.
A full slate of events is planned for this weekend -- the All-Star game, the slam dunk contest, the three-point shootout, the Southeastern Flower Show, a rodeo and a slew of parties at clubs around town.
The packed hotels, arenas and bars are worrying some people that lightly protected public areas could be hit by terrorists.
But Georgia Homeland Security Director Bill Hitchens says increased police presence should ease any fears.
Officials say there have been no specific threats against Atlanta.
