The Knights (16-9, 5-3) routed Flowery Branch 93-43 Saturday night to edge West Hall for the No. 2 seed by virtue of tiebreakers.
Marqise Wright and Narquise Mintz each poured in 19 points to lead Johnson.
The Lady Falcons, however, stunned Johnson for their second straight subregion win. The loss for the Lady Knights (16-9, 4-4) knocks them back to third heading into the region tournament on Monday.
Flowery Branch (16-9, 3-5) got 27 points from Kristina Tyler and 21 points from beth Adcock in the win.
Emilie Latty led Johnson with 19 points.
In oher prep action Saturday night, the No. 6-ranked Gainesville Lady Red Elephants completed their perfect run through Region 7-AAA with a 57-41 over region rival and No. 5-ranked Fannin County.
Gainesville (22-3) will be the No. 1 seed in the Region 7-AAA tournament and has not lost to a region team this season.
Tasha Humphrey scored 24 points to lead Gainesville.
In the boys game, Gainesville shook a tough loss to Johnson on Friday to beat Fannin 70-55.
Brent Benson led the Elephants with 25 points. Steven Pettit and Brandon Sims each scored 12 points for Gainesville, who will have to win a play-in game Monday against Flowery Branch to get into the region tournament.
