MACON - Wesley Duke scored 19 points and Scott Emerson and Clarence Baker each added 17 as Mercer downed Georgia State 88-80 Saturday night in a game that saw two players ejected in a fracas that had both benches pouring onto the court along with some of the 534 fans in attendance.
The incident came with 17:15 remaining when Mercer's Justin Howard elbowed GSU's Trello Galloway twice coming down the floor. Galloway then went after Howard and both players were ejected. The benches emptied and some fans went onto the floor before order was restored.
There were 48 fouls called in the game, 29 on Georgia State, which had three players foul out and, with Galloway's ejection, left them with only five players in uniform to finish the game.
