Thrashers recall Hnilicka from AHL

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Thrashers placed goatenders Byron Dafoe and Pasi Nurminen on injured reserve Tuesday and recalled Milan Hnilicka from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. <br>

The 31-year-old Dafoe had a groin strain Monday and was replaced by Frederic Cassivi before Atlanta's 4-3 overtime victory over Buffalo. The amount of time Dafoe will be out will be determined after MRI results are available Wednesday. <br>

The 27-year-old Nurminen has been the Thrashers' Number One goalie with 13 wins in 37 games. He suffered a groin strain Saturday against Detroit and could be out two weeks. <br>
<br>
Hnilicka has been recalled from Chicago three times this season. The 29-year-old goaltender is 4-0-1 with a 1.95 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage during his last five AHL games. He is 1-9-0 with a 4.11 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage in 13 games with Atlanta this season.
