GAINESVILLE - Arbor Day is a day the country is asked to pause to reflect on the benefits from trees and stop routine activities to plant a tree in remembrance of the need to give back to nature.

The annual Arbor Day celebration in Gainesville will be held Friday morning at the civic center at 10:00. Officials say the Champion Tree owners will be recognized as well as the Essay and Art Contest winners.
