Bears tied for first in A-Sun South

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - Scott Emerson scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Mercer came back to beat Florida Atlantic 87-72 on Thursday night. <br>

Emerson led all five Mercer starters in double figures as the Bears (19-5, 11-2 Atlantic Sun) overcame a nine-point halftime deficit and outscore FAU by 24 in the second half. With the win, Mercer remained tied with Troy State for first place in the Atlantic Sun's South division. <br>

Wesley Duke had 15 points while Delmar Wilson scored 14 for Mercer. Aleem Muhammad added 13 and Clarence Baker scored 11 in the win. <br>

After falling behind by 11 in the second half, Mercer took control of the game with a 20-3 run to take the lead for good. FAU shot just 29.6 percent in the second half while Mercer shot 61.5 percent. <br>
<br>
FAU (7-19, 3-11) fell behind early but went on an 18-6 run to lead 33-27 before closing the half leading 40-31. <br>
<br>
Earnest Crumbley led the Owls with 22 points and Jeff Cowans added 13.
