County tax office workers arrested on theft charges

<p>Two employees in the Habersham County Tax Office were arrested after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it discovered that $72,000 was missing from the tax commissioners office.</p><p>Louise Parham, 42, of Cornelia and Tina Arnold, 38, of Clarksville were charged Tuesday with theft by taking. Each posted $36,000 bond at the Habersham County Jail and was released Wednesday.</p><p>The investigation by the Gainesville office of the GBI followed a request by the local district attorneys office to look into allegations of missing funds from the Habersham County Tax Commissioners office.</p>
