GAINESVILLE - The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team started strong and never let up in an 89-43 rout of visiting Greenforest Tuesday night.

The Lions scored early and often, opening up the first quarter with a 23-4 run.

"Everything went right. The ball just seemed to go in," said Coach Riche Hughes, "This was the best game we played all year."

The Lions improved to 6-1 with the win.

By the time the first half ended, the Lions led the Eagles 51-29. They added another 23-4 run to start the second half to finish over Greenforest.

"I'm very proud of how my guys came out and played hard in the second half, even though we were up by 22 points. This team played hard the whole game," Hughes marveled.

Dustin Wellborn lead all scorers with 22 points. Will Crumley and J.B. Little also reached the double digit mark with 17 and 15 points respectively.

Jordan Latimer had a big night for Greenforest with 17 points and four blocks.
