Lady Spartans shock No. 6 Fannin; West Hall boys win

OAKWOOD - The West Hall girls basketball team opened up a huge early lead on No. 6 Fannin County Friday night and then held on for the 58-49 upset win.<br> <br> The West Hall boys made it a sweep with an 81-65 win in the late game.<br> <br> The Lady Spartans ((4-2) led 22-5 late in the first quarter but helf off several rallies by the Lady Rebels in the second half.<br> <br> Lindsey Paulson led West Hall with 12 points. Martha Vital had 11 and Paige Hanson, Heather Tidwell and Heather Power each scored 10 points for the Lady Spartans.<br> <br> Fannin County was led by Stephanie Scearce&#39;s 30 points.<br> <br> In the boys game, the Spartans won for the third time in four games behind Trey Smith&#39;s 24 points.<br> <br> Justin Brooks had scored 14 points and Terrell Mock and Jacob Vital each scored 12 points for West Hall (4-2). Israel Mata poured in 10 for the Spartans.
