Vinson shoots Warriors to win over Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH - White County's Heath Vinson poured in 31 points, including seven 3-pointers, to shoot the Warriors to an 89-68 win over Flowery Branch Tuesday night.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Falcons, their longest in school history.

White County (5-1) hit 12 3-pointers as a team. The Warriors have now won four straight.

Vinson sparked an early 19-3 run with 10 points to push the Warriors to an early lead they would never relinquish. The Warrirors lead by as many as 21 in the first half.

Flowery Branch (4-3) got as close as 42-28 in the early moments of the third quarter but White County then went on a 38-11 run to run out to an 80-53 lead early in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons' Colby Newton, who finished with a team-high 15 points, 13 in the second half, sparked a run to get them back to within 17 points late

Between the two teams, 18 different players scored.

After Vinson, Adan Cash had 11 points for White County. Emory Cain and Weston Fuller each scored 10 for the Warriors.

For Flowery Branch, Zac Swansey and Shawn Johnson each scored 10 points. Justin heilman added 8 for the Falcons.
