Lady Rebels win battle of ranked teams over Flowery Branch

BLUE RIDGE - In a battle of top 11 teams in Class AAA, the Fannin County girls basketball team handed the Flowery Branch girls their second loss in three games Friday night.<br>

The Lady Rebels held off the Lady Falcons 73-58 in Region 7-AAA action.<br>
<br>
In the boys game, Flowery Branch took a tough 72-66 win on the road.<br>
<br>
The Lady Falcons (6-2) were led by freshman Courtney Newton's 24 points. beth Adcock added 20 and Kristina Tyler 12 for Flowery Branch.<br>
<br>
Fannin was led by Stephanie Scearce with 18 points.
