GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Board of Education - meeting over the weekend - discussed the need for a new elementary school in the southern part of the county.

Schools superintendent Dennis Fordham says he hopes the school can be ready for the 2005 school year. He expects construction to begin next year.

Further down the road, Dr. Fordham says the county will probably - in the next five to seven years - need even more elementary schools and another new middle school.

Six new schools have been built in the county over the past few years.
