COMMERCE - The Commerce Tigers killed two birds with one win last week over arch-rival Jefferson.

Commerce clinched the Region 8-A title with the 35-14 victory and also pushed its win streak over Jefferson to nine-games in the process.

The Tigers (7-2, 4-0) will try to finish the year with six-straight wins when they play host to Social Circle Friday night.

Commerce will open the playoffs next week at home against Whitefield Academy, the No. 4-seed from Region 5.

The Commerce offense has been rolling during its five-game win streak averaging more than 300 yards of offense and 39 points a game.

Defensive the Tigers have allowed just 11 points a game during their streak and just 13.8 for the season.

Social Circle (5-4, 2-2) has been eliminated from the playoffs but has won five of its last seven games. The Redskins beat Towns County 48-0 last week to snap a two-game losing streak after a four-game win streak.
