JEFFERSON - A school bond referendum could be put before the voters of Jackson County next year.

School officials say a bond issue may be necessary to help the school system keep pace with the growth of the county.

They say about $45 million will be needed for future school construction - a new middle school, another high school, another elementary school, and classroom additions to existing schools.

Jackson school board members are considering September 21 as the date for the referendum.
