ATLANTA - The real work has just begun for 35 Georgia students, including Paloma Leon of Gainesville High, who make up the state school superintendent's new Student Advisory Council.
During the group's first meeting recently, discussion topics ranged from the No Child Left Behind Act to the Georgia High School Graduation Test.
They also talked about issues such as diversity and tolerance in Georgia schools, dropout prevention, and raising SAT scores.
Leon is the only northeast Georgia representative on the panel.
