CLEVELAND - Nick Winters scored with less than five minutes left and the White County defense intercepted two late passes as the Warriors beat Chestatee 14-7 in a battle of winless teams.

White County (1-9) trailed the entire game until Winters scored, which was set up by a 21-yard run by Winters the play before that. Ryan Locklear hit Brian Cantrell for the two-point conversion.

Chestatee (0-10) scored first on a 9-yard touchdown run by Jessie Edwards for a 7-0 lead. It stayed that way until late in the second quarter when Locklear hit Winters on an 8-yard scoring pass, but the Warriors missed the extra point. That play was set up on a play where offsetting penalties negated a Chestatee interception.

Chestatee had its chances as the White County offense committed three second half turnovers. But the White County defense held back several War Eagles drives.
