Lumpkin jury returns verdict

MARIETTA - A jury from Lumpkin County has convicted a Paulding County man of murder in the shooting deaths of his pregnant ex-girlfriend and her mother four years ago.<br> <br> Thirty-four year-old Michael W. Buttram was convicted yesterday of killing Tara Cantrell and Mildred Cantrell at their Mableton home. <br> <br> The sentencing phase of the trial was to continue Friday. The state is seeking the death penalty.<br> <br> The jury was picked in Dahlonega for the trial which is being held in Marietta after a judge granted a change-of-venue because of pre-trial pubicity in the Atlanta area.
