Lady Elephants on top of AAA rankings

The Gainesville girls basketball team is ranked No. 1 in Class AAA in the first gabasketball.net rankings of the regular season.<br>

The rankings are released each Monday night.<br>
<br>
The Lady Elephants are the defending state champions in Class AAA.<br>
<br>
but they are coming off two straight losses to Class AAAAA top 5 teams Collins Hill and Redan.<br>
<br>
In the Class AAA rankings for other Hall County teams, Flowery Branch is tied for seventh, Johnson is 10th and East Hall 15th. In area rankings, Fannin County is sixth and Elbert County 11th.<br>

In the Class AA rankings, the Buford girls are ranked 13th. <br>
<br>
In Class AAAA, the Forsyth Central girls are tied for second in the rankings with Mays. Both teams sit behind No. 1 Marist.
